An unexpectedly hard shot by Caoilte Kelly in the 2nd minute of play forced Garrykonnedy's goalkeeper Bevan Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Garrykonnedy's Rourke McSteve got a free kick in the 6th minute. After having played for 7 minutes, Bivitas Dillon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edenacarnan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bivitas Dillon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caoilte Kelly struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Bevan Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edenacarnan. Peter Ryan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Timothy Mullan. Bevan Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breslin McAlphie, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A long shot from Timothy Mullan in the 14th minute of play was well struck, but Peter Ryan made a really good save at the right post. Caoilte Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Bevan Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Caoilte Kelly came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Edenacarnan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caoilte Kelly couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Beiti Brennan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute Glenn Gallagher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Ryan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bevan Rutherford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breslin McAlphie went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Edenacarnan's Peter Ryan got control of the ball when Becc Mullan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute, Breslin McAlphie made a precise shot to the right of Bevan Rutherford. Garrykonnedy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Garrykonnedy's zone, Caoilte Kelly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bevan Rutherford came out of the goal and Caoilte Kelly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Garrykonnedy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Edenacarnan were winning 0-2.
Edenacarnan's Peter Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Perth in the 53rd minute of play. Caoilte Kelly blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bevan Rutherford having to make a save. Peter Ryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Becc Mullan, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 73rd match minute, Garrykonnedy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Becc Mullan to maneuver through the defense. Becc Mullan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Ryan having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Edenacarnan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadhg Beckett to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Becc Mullan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Ryan. Edenacarnan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Becc Mullan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Caoilte Kelly's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Bevan Rutherford skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Caoilte Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edenacarnan's supporters rose to their feet, but Caoilte Kelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bevan Rutherford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 93 played minutes Garrykonnedy got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Mullan. The Edenacarnan players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
