Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Conaill McNamara took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cloghroe's goalkeeper Banon Ghee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Cloghroe booed when Kidlawn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Dalton didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Auley Grant sped through Kidlawn's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bartley McTommy. After a defensive mix-up in Cloghroe's zone, Darrin Gough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Banon Ghee came out of the goal and Darrin Gough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basil McWill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Auley Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Conaill McNamara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Auley Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Auley Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloghroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Auley Grant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bartley McTommy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Conaill McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Cloghroe were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Basil McWill to make the kick off. With his leg Bartley McTommy managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Cloghroe's Auley Grant fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Auley Grant was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Kidlawn's zone, Auley Grant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartley McTommy came out of the goal and Auley Grant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conaill McNamara in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bartley McTommy saved Kidlawn from getting behind. The supporters of Kidlawn booed when Cloghroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bairthmead McAlphie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Darrin Gough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kidlawn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darrin Gough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Auley Grant who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Bartley McTommy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 70thth minute of the game Basil McWill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cloghroe's Banon Ghee was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Conaill McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Bartley McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Kidlawn's goalkeeper Bartley McTommy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conaill McNamara. The supporters of Cloghroe booed when Kidlawn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lochlainn Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brenda McMichel, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Paud Brennan hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Bartley McTommy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conaill McNamara in the 81st minute of the match. Auley Grant could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Bartley McTommy made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Conaill McNamara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bartley McTommy was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 92nd play minute Auley Grant came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bartley McTommy. 0-2. In the 95th minute, Kealan McAaron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 98 played minutes Cloghroe got a freekick which was hit by Donan Walker. Andrew Dalton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 99th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cloghroe played a much better game than Kidlawn and deserved their victory. The Kidlawn players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
