The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bradon Tierney struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Barde Sheridan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandyford. Bradon Tierney who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Barde Sheridan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Sandyford booed when Glacknabrade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedict McStephen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blathma Quinnless charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blathma Quinnless the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Sandyford got a freekick which was hit by Blathma Quinnless. Blathma Quinnless might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barde Sheridan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blathma Quinnless ran back to his position shaking his head. Barde Sheridan stood somewhat misplaced when Bradon Tierney came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 21 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Banban McSteven in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrick McBrand saved Sandyford from getting behind. After some careless play in the Glacknabrade defense, Bradon Tierney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Barde Sheridan. The Glacknabrade fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Barde Sheridan should have stopped the shot. Bradon Tierney in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barde Sheridan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 39th minute Declan Caffey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick McBrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aron Robinson fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandyford's protests and gave Aron Robinson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Glacknabrade booed when Sandyford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Robinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Glacknabrade's Declan Caffey, in the 42nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Glacknabrade. Banban McSteven struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Patrick McBrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glacknabrade. Declan Caffey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick McBrand having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Blathma Quinnless made the kick off in the second half. Benedict McStephen tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Barde Sheridan. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-0 in the 52nd minute. In the 61st minute, Banban McSteven fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 63 minutes into the game, Banban McSteven recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patrick McBrand. Banban McSteven showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. In the 66thth minute of the game Banban McSteven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sandyford's Patrick McBrand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Glacknabrade's Benedict McStephen suffered a sore thigh after 66 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 76th minute Blathma Quinnless shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barde Sheridan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Glacknabrade's Berry Deans got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Glacknabrade's goal looked a bit too open when Bradon Tierney came free, but Barde Sheridan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Sandyford's Bradon Tierney nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Barde Sheridan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Sandyford's Patrick McBrand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Sandyford from getting a goal against them. After 89 minutes of play Sandyford's Aron Robinson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Sandyford's Aron Robinson got a free kick in the 90th minute. Patrick McBrand acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bera McSteven. After 92 played minutes Sandyford got a freekick which was hit by Bran Ramsey. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sandyford fans cheered their team off the field, for while Glacknabrade had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
