An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleary Myler in the 28th minute of play forced Donohill's goalkeeper Leonard Kelly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Baoithin McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donohill's supporters rose to their feet, but Baoithin McCready was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinny McLiam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, Ray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shannon Ferguson to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Baoithin McCready made a precise shot to the right of Dinny McLiam. Ray's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Donohill's Leonard Kelly proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Donohill from getting a goal against them. After 42 played minutes Donohill got a freekick which was hit by Bodibeua Holt. In the 43rd minute of the match Cianán McTom sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonard Kelly skillfully saved the ball. Ray's Cleary Myler got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bowen Jameson got free with Leonard Kelly in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baoithin McCready to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baoithin McCreadys short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Dinny McLiam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Donohill's goalkeeper Leonard Kelly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bowen Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Kelly having to interfere. Bodibeua Holt charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bodibeua Holt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bodibeua Holt kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Bowen Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Kelly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bowen Jameson in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Donohill eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
