Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bard John kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. With a little luck, Dublin Nutmegs's Pat McCready got control of the ball when Pierson Prunty tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pierson Prunty could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Pat McCready made a huge save. When Beiti McNamara came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Dublin Nutmegs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beiti McNamara couldn't finish the play. Pat McCready made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Pierson Prunty sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doney Deery during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Carrigaline Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doney Deery to maneuver through the defense. After 19 played minutes Carrigaline Utd got a freekick which was hit by Doney Deery. Dublin Nutmegs's Brine McLiam couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Carrigaline Utd. Taveon McBrand charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Taveon McBrand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Taveon McBrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Dempsey, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Pierson Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Pat McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Healey Caffrey hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute Shey Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat McCready saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mack McMichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beiti McNamara in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dublin Nutmegs's goalkeeper Pat McCready, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 41 played minutes, Carrigaline Utd's Joseph Dempsey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pat McCready came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carrigaline Utd reached it. Taveon McBrand got his second yellow card in the match during the 42nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Carrigaline Utd booed when Dublin Nutmegs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taveon McBrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Shey Ryan made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Shey Ryan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrigaline Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Shey Ryan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pat McCready breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pat McCready made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierson Prunty in the 56th minute of play. After 61 minutes, Shey Ryan made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Dublin Nutmegs's Pat McCready tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Joseph Beckett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Carrigaline Utd's Mack McMichel got control of the ball when Beiti McNamara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Beiti McNamara might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mack McMichel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Beiti McNamara ran back to his position shaking his head. Joseph Beckett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mack McMichel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Beiti McNamara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Pierson Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carrigaline Utd's Shey Ryan suffered a sore thigh after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Donegan McPhil fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dublin Nutmegs's protests and gave Donegan McPhil a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dublin Nutmegs fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! When Pierson Prunty came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Carrigaline Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierson Prunty couldn't finish the play. Dublin Nutmegs's Pat McCready played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierson Prunty in the 96th minute of play. After 98 played minutes Dublin Nutmegs got a freekick which was hit by Gavin Grant. Pat McCready showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierson Prunty, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute. Dublin Nutmegs's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
