The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donoghue Deery during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 2 played minutes Kilclare got a freekick which was hit by Donoghue Deery. In the 3rd minute, Blanaid McCready got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dawayne McVictor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Perth having to interfere. Suibhne Walker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brady Molloy having to interfere. The supporters of Kilclare booed when Rathnure was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birr Benson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Suibhne Walker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rylie Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Boru Perth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darrin Matthews hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Shane Dempsey hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Blanaid McCready scored 0-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brady Molloy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Kilclare booed when Rathnure was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowen Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gealan McBjarton fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilclare's protests and gave Gealan McBjarton a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kilclare fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Kilclare's Brady Molloy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suibhne Walker in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rylie Perth was the one to do the kick off. Kilclare's Brady Molloy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Kilclare from getting a goal against them. Rylie Perth struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Boru Perth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilclare. Kilclare's Shane Dempsey got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Shane Dempsey off the ground. In the 62nd minute, Shane Dempsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Rathnure's Geralt Ramsey tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Heron MaCollin charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heron MaCollin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 66 minutes, Rathnure's Geralt Ramsey got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Brady Molloy. Dawayne McVictor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kevis Coyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Perth having to interfere. Rathnure's Boru Perth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dawayne McVictor in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Kilclare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darrin Matthews to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Rathnure's Geralt Ramsey broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Blanaid McCready's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brady Molloy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Kevis Coyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Perth having to interfere. If Suibhne Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Blanaid McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rathnure's supporters rose to their feet, but Blanaid McCready was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brady Molloy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Rathnure left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kilclare.
