Newtownbarry FC's Boyce Dalton got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roland Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Roland Dempsey made a precise shot to the right of Tierney McGlenn. Newtownbarry FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Emyvale AFC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Donegal Glen Crowe hit a great ball. Bercan Doyle was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Boyce Dalton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Boyce Dalton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Tory McPaul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tierney McGlenn having to interfere. In the 33rdth minute of the game Boyce Dalton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emyvale AFC's Bercan Doyle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bairne Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bercan Doyle having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Newtownbarry FC's Bairne Hughes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bercan Doyle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Bercan Doyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyce Dalton in the 45th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boyce Dalton to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Roland Dempsey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Emyvale AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Dempsey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tierney McGlenn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th match minute, Emyvale AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donegal Glen Crowe to maneuver through the defense. Bercan Doyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boyce Dalton's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 67th minute, Tory McPaul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Boyce Dalton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barr Sheridan during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Emyvale AFC got a freekick which was hit by Barr Sheridan. Raymond Tierney struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Bercan Doyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newtownbarry FC. Boyce Dalton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bercan Doyle having to make a save. Bercan Doyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyce Dalton in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donegal Glen Crowe during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Emyvale AFC's Donegal Glen Crowe got a free kick in the 90th minute. Boyce Dalton succeeded in the game's 91st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. Newtownbarry FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
