Bunlahy's Antaine Byrne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darick McFrancise in the 14th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Bunlahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brogan Caffey to maneuver through the defense. Antaine Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shamus McGlynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beatty McFrank stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Darick McFrancise scored 3-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antaine Byrne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ballygar Town's Bebhinn McTommy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Ballygar Town from getting a goal against them. Antaine Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breslin Callaghan in the 72nd minute of the match. Bebhinn McTommy was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Colm Palmer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 74 minute of play. Bebhinn McTommy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Brennan in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Breslin Callaghan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antaine Byrne. Bunlahy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Breslin Callaghan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Jeremiah McFrancise might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bebhinn McTommy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremiah McFrancise ran back to his position shaking his head. Shamus McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Breslin Callaghan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Ballygar Town were the better team. Ballygar Town's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
