Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ailill McAlphie kicked off to start the match. Bartel Crowe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teris Dempsey's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. The supporters of Ballyguin booed when Tyrrelstown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aodh McCollion didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Kelly could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Torrey McOliver made a huge save. In the 36th minute Ailill McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartel Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Ballyguin's goal looked a bit too open when Ailill McAlphie came free, but Bartel Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Ballyguin's Ennis Tracy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Torrey McOliver. Torrey McOliver yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ennis Tracy to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Ailill McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartel Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrrelstown FC's Torrey McOliver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Kelly in the 60th minute of play. Blathma McDecland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bartel Crowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ailill McAlphie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ballyguin's Tomás Kelly in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Teris Dempsey took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Bartel Crowe to make any attempt to save it. The Ballyguin fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tyrrelstown FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
