Francis Wiley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Whitmore, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Portway in the 13th minute of play forced Ilkley's goalkeeper Francis Wiley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ilkley defense, Jack Whitmore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francis Wiley. The Ilkley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francis Wiley should have stopped the shot. If Lewis Warner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russell Darling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieran Butler in the 23rd minute of the match. Francis Wiley came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Bath City's Jack Whitmore. But to his dismay, Jack Whitmore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Kieran Butler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Bath City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kieran Butler fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ilkley's Lewis Warner got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute of the match Carl Coburn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francis Wiley skillfully saved the ball. If Will Portway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Will Portway was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Kieran Butler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kieran Butler might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Russell Darling. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kieran Butler ran back to his position shaking his head. Jack Whitmore could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Francis Wiley made a huge save. The supporters of Ilkley booed when Bath City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Kidd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francis Wiley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Will Portway in the 62nd minute of the match. Russell Darling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieran Butler in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bath City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
