An unexpectedly hard shot by Al Middlewood in the 3rd minute of play forced Onidek's goalkeeper Duncan Saunders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Steadman took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casey Platt. Casey Platt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Al Middlewood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Onidek's zone, Al Middlewood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duncan Saunders came out of the goal and Al Middlewood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a defensive mix-up in Haslemere's zone, Ivan Clement stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casey Platt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Steadman in the 19th minute of play. If Ivan Clement had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Allan Steadman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haslemere's Casey Platt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Spike Long sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Onidek's goalkeeper Duncan Saunders had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Spike Long. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Onidek:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Haslemere:s goal. In the 42nd minute of the game, Haslemere got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Clement made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Haslemere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Hales to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Haslemere booed when Onidek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Best didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haslemere's Casey Platt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Haslemere from getting a goal against them. Duncan Saunders took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Long, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 67 minutes, Spike Long managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haslemere's supporters crossed their fingers, but Spike Long was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Casey Platt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Clement in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Aaron Brayford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Onidek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haslemere the free kick. Aaron Brayford kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Haslemere's Al Middlewood got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Onidek's Duncan Saunders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spike Long in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of Onidek booed when Haslemere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddie Hales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Clement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey Platt having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
