When Brinklow's Ash Bridgeworth in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jay Barkley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute, Curtis Wing fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 29 minutes, Alfred Sparks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ulverston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Sparks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfred Sparks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jay Barkley having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Simon Shilton hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match.
