Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tommy Turk took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Tommy Turk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Withernsea's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Jefferies came free, but Benji Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Daniel Stead managed to get in a good position for a shot. Withernsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Stead was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keith Bray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Daniel Stead made a precise shot to the right of Keith Bray. Wythenshaw AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Withernsea's Daniel Stead got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keith Bray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Turk in the 22nd minute of the match. Tommy Turk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Keith Bray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francis Goodwin kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wythenshaw AFC's Stewart Croxford got a free kick in the 28th minute. Wythenshaw AFC's Keith Bray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Wythenshaw AFC from getting a goal against them. If Ash Boland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Stead got free with Keith Bray in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stewart Croxford during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stewart Croxford hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Jefferies in the 54th minute of play forced Withernsea's goalkeeper Benji Leach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricky Jefferies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Withernsea's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Jefferies came free, but Benji Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Turk took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keith Bray. Keith Bray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Jefferies in the 67th minute of play forced Withernsea's goalkeeper Benji Leach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Stead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Bray having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Stewart Croxford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benji Leach. Withernsea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stewart Croxford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Tommy Turk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricky Jefferies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Withernsea had played much better football throughout.
