Spectators: 5900 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 900, VIP seats: 0) Steve Weatherhead made the kick off and thus started the match. After a defensive mix-up in Thirsk FC's zone, Byron Hurdle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Scrivener came out of the goal and Byron Hurdle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Steve Weatherhead came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Levenshulme City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Weatherhead couldn't finish the play. Mattias Blake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Denny Scrivener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Thirsk FC's Sammy Colton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. With 16 minutes on the clock, Micheal Forrest commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 18 minutes of play, Thirsk FC's Seb Plummer made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Billy Wildman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Steve Weatherhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Scrivener having to interfere. Denny Scrivener showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Higson in the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Levenshulme City's Ashley Higson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denny Scrivener made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Billy Wildman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Colton in the 40th minute of play. Ashley Higson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Scrivener having to interfere. Denny Scrivener showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Byron Hurdle in the 46th minute of the match. Denny Scrivener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Weatherhead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Frankie Pyrah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Scrivener having to interfere. A hard, long distance shot from Ken Phelps flew over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Levenshulme City's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Beck came free, but Billy Wildman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Steve Weatherhead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Levenshulme City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Weatherhead was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ashley Higson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Denny Scrivener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Steve Weatherhead had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Byron Hurdle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Levenshulme City's supporters rose to their feet, but Byron Hurdle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denny Scrivener breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Dowdall kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Levenshulme City's Billy Wildman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Beck in the 88th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Ashley Higson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denny Scrivener was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Denny Scrivener was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Peter Dowdall. Despite being the better team, Levenshulme City failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
