When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Guilherme Velloso sped through Annscroft's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivan Hornsby. When Eddie Starr fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Annscroft's protests and gave Eddie Starr a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Black Swans booed when Annscroft was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Starr didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Black Swans's Pete Sawyer got control of the ball when Eddie Starr tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Velloso in the 17th minute of play forced Annscroft's goalkeeper Ivan Hornsby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reg Pool received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pete Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eddie Starr could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Pete Sawyer made a huge save. Robert Warden kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Black Swans's Guilherme Velloso in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 32 minutes, Guilherme Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Swans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guilherme Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Black Swans's Guilherme Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Hornsby made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 41st minute Guilherme Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Hornsby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Annscroft's Ivan Hornsby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugon Urban in the 45th minute of play. Pete Sawyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reg Pool, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jeremy Monk made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 54 in the game by Guilherme Velloso from a close distance when the talented Ivan Hornsby managed to make a qualified save. Annscroft's players were relieved. Guilherme Velloso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Hornsby came out and tried to block the shot, but Guilherme Velloso slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 56th minute. Jeremy Monk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pete Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Hornsby made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Guilherme Velloso sent off a good shot on target. Phillip Howard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guilherme Velloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Hornsby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Velloso in the 66th minute of play forced Annscroft's goalkeeper Ivan Hornsby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pete Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Monk, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Guilherme Velloso struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ivan Hornsby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Swans. A collision led to Annscroft getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Robert Warden hit a great ball. Annscroft's Ivan Hornsby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Annscroft from getting a goal against them. Ivan Hornsby made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Guilherme Velloso sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Annscroft's Ivan Hornsby got control of the ball when Guilherme Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Hornsby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip Howard in the 94th minute of play. Guilherme Velloso took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Hornsby. Ivan Hornsby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Black Swans's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
