Spectators: 6707 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1707, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rich Searle started the match with the kick off. Andy Brimble took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Simon Winship. Simon Winship dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ilfracombe were furious when Barry Rusby was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 17 minutes into the game, one of Ilfracombe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ted Stubbs shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 21st minute, Andy Brimble made a precise shot to the right of Simon Winship. Lovedean AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Rich Searle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Scott Eagles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keanu Soares in the 32nd minute of play forced Lovedean AFC's goalkeeper Simon Winship to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andy Brimble in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Winship prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andy Brimble in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Winship saved Lovedean AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billie Featherstone in the 36th minute of play forced Lovedean AFC's goalkeeper Simon Winship to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rich Searle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andy Brimble was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Searle in the 53rd minute of play forced Ilfracombe's goalkeeper Scott Eagles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Winship made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Andy Brimble sent off a good shot on target. If Andy Brimble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Lovedean AFC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ted Stubbs hit a great ball. Simon Winship showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billie Featherstone, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The corner led Ilfracombe's Nick Pilkington to fire away a dangerous shot which Simon Winship despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andy Brimble scored 0-4 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simon Winship, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ilfracombe's Andy Brimble got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Brimble got free with Simon Winship in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the game, Ted Stubbs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lovedean AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ilfracombe the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lovedean AFC's Ted Stubbs got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Lovedean AFC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Eric Lampard hit a great ball. Andy Brimble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Sidney Hollingsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lovedean AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidney Hollingsworth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Scott Eagles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andy Brimble blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simon Winship having to make a save. Ilfracombe's Scott Eagles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Hollingsworth in the 89th minute of play. Andy Brimble received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Simon Winship tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alfie Morse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
