Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rich Stone got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Ironville's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Culverhouse came free, but Philip Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamie Osmond struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Philip Clemence didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chingford City. Sammy Coombe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 26th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ash Butterworth's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Glyn Rothwell skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Stuart Culverhouse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Philip Clemence was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. With a little luck, Chingford City's Glyn Rothwell got control of the ball when Ash Butterworth tried to sneak it across the goal line. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 44th minute when Rich Stone elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Stuart Culverhouses short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Philip Clemence to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rich Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 minutes of play, Ironville's Rich Stone made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glyn Rothwell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chingford City's Glyn Rothwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rich Stone in the 65th minute of play. Stuart Culverhouse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Philip Clemence made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Stone in the 71st minute of play forced Chingford City's goalkeeper Glyn Rothwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ironville's Philip Clemence proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Ironville from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ironville's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alex Bradley was slow to take the kick. During this time Chingford City's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Alex Bradley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ironville's Philip Clemence did a great save. Tosh Lonsdale charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tosh Lonsdale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 89 played minutes Ironville got a freekick which was hit by Tosh Lonsdale. If Ash Butterworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Glyn Rothwell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rich Stone in the 96th minute of play. Chingford City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
