Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Darryl Fisher started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Rob Beavan hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After having played for 7 minutes, Sebastien Swain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crystal Palace's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastien Swain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 12 played minutes Crystal Palace got a freekick which was hit by Kasey Heath. In the 14th minute, Sean Dryden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darryl Fisher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Pierce Hopkinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Basil Elding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basil Elding recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Calvin Coates hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Todd Holden sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Crystal Palace's Trev Howarth didn't even have to move. If Darryl Fisher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Crystal Palace's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Fisher came free, but Trev Howarth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasey Heath kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Brad Hibbert struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Trev Howarth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romford. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51stth minute of the game Darryl Fisher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crystal Palace's Trev Howarth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Romford were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Crystal Palace's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Todd Holden took the corner. The corner ended in Todd Holden almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Crystal Palace's Trev Howarth did a great save. 1-0 became the score in the 64th minute when Darryl Fisher elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Romford fully deserved thier win.
