A wasted opportunity for Ironville. 25 minutes into the game, Rich Stone lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Paddy Doughty. In the 31st minute, Rich Stone fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Paddy Doughty, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Ironville getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Tosh Lonsdale hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darryl Fisher in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Philip Clemence prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the game, Ironville's Ash Butterworth nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paddy Doughty made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rich Stone made a kick off. Paddy Doughty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rich Stone, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 53 played minutes Romford got a freekick which was hit by Sean Dryden. Ash Butterworth struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Paddy Doughty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ironville. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristopher Hamilton during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ironville's Kristopher Hamilton got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Romford's Darryl Fisher dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Philip Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darryl Fisher, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Tosh Lonsdale kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Todd Holden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Philip Clemence. Ironville's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Romford's Paddy Doughty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rich Stone in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Romford defense, Rich Stone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paddy Doughty. The Romford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paddy Doughty should have stopped the shot. Rich Stone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Kris Knight-Percival hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ironville's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
