The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Dylan Sinclair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. After 22 played minutes Not Entirely Crap got a freekick which was hit by Perry Crabtree. 27 minutes into the match, Not Entirely Crap's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Alderson came free, but Glyn Bull reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Verne Lemerond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinnie Cooper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glyn Bull showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Kidd, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Lenny Bartlett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Vinnie Cooper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Not Entirely Crap's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenny Bartlett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Not Entirely Crap's Lenny Bartlett got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lenny Bartlett to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Dylan Sinclair was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Not Entirely Crap's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ambleside the free kick. Lenny Bartlett struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Lenny Bartlett hit a great ball. Felix Roberts was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Not Entirely Crap's zone, Sebastian Alderson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glyn Bull came out of the goal and Sebastian Alderson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Not Entirely Crap could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ambleside throughout the match.
