Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barry Langdon started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Bruce Lamb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quentin Daly made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Martyn Hatcher sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Markinson in the 8th minute of play forced Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martyn Hatcher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dave Markinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nat Munroe's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nat Munroe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, one of Inter Leeds:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Inter Leeds. The goalkeeper, Quentin Daly, was totally fooled by Liverpool FC's Jamie Hanley, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Martyn Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quentin Daly was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dave Markinson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 26 minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dave Markinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quentin Daly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Inter Leeds got a freekick which was hit by Rod Adamson. 42 minutes into the game, Dave Markinson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Quentin Daly. Dave Markinson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dave Markinson made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Hatcher in the 51st minute of play forced Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Martyn Hatcher put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Quentin Daly. After 55 minutes of play, Liverpool FC's Martyn Hatcher made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quentin Daly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Quentin Daly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Hatcher in the 58th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Barry Langdon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter Leeds and the Liverpool FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Markinson in the 60th minute of play forced Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inter Leeds's Quentin Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Markinson in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Hatcher in the 64th minute of play forced Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Dave Markinson notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Inter Leeds's Quentin Daly. Quentin Daly was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Quentin Daly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Hatcher in the 70th minute of play. Quentin Daly didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dave Markinson went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Barry Langdon kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Hatcher in the 76th minute of play forced Inter Leeds's goalkeeper Quentin Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Gary Story-Moore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gary Story-Moore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quentin Daly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 played minutes Inter Leeds got a freekick which was hit by Rod Adamson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martyn Hatcher in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quentin Daly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dave Markinson succeeded in the game's 88th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 9-0. Martyn Hatcher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Inter Leeds's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Markinson came free, but Quentin Daly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quentin Daly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Hatcher in the 96th minute of play. Liverpool FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
