Nathanial Dunning's late challenge caught a F.C.Bulan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nathanial Dunning helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Thurmaston City's Nathanial Dunning got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Thurmaston City's zone, Jez Whittington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathon Barnes came out of the goal and Jez Whittington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nathanial Dunning was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Jez Whittington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martin Powell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Watts in the 55th minute of play. Nathanial Dunning hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Kenny Tinker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Barnes having to interfere. Martin Powell didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 78th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Travis Coleman got free with Martin Powell in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jez Whittington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. F.C.Bulan's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Nicholls was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathon Barnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chants of Thurmaston City echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as F.C.Bulan had held the ball for most of the match.
