Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Austen Stone got the match started through his kick off. Austen Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 4th minute Giles Hutchinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfred Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Slade, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Alistair Kirk received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dominik Mortlock came out and tried to block the shot, but Alistair Kirk slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. If Austen Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dylan Clarke took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dominik Mortlock. Horsham AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Austen Stone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Dominik Mortlock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luke Sedgemore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominik Mortlock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austen Stone in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Austen Stone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dominik Mortlock. Horsham AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Austen Stone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Luke Sedgemore kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Alfred Hunt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Dobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfred Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malcolm Slade in the 29th minute of play. Austen Stone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominik Mortlock having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Luke Sedgemore managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Benfleet FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luke Sedgemore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dominik Mortlock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dominik Mortlock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austen Stone, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Austen Stone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Danny Humphreys struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Dominik Mortlock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Benfleet FC. Alfred Hunt came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Horsham AFC's Malcolm Slade. But to his dismay, Malcolm Slade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Carl Dobson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, South Benfleet FC's goalkeeper Alfred Hunt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Malcolm Slade. Alfred Hunt was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Phil McGrath capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Phil McGrath really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Horsham AFC's zone, Austen Stone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dominik Mortlock came out of the goal and Austen Stone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 76 minutes into the game, when Dylan Clarke put in a rough tackle. Alfred Hunt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Kent in the 78th minute of the match. Luke Sedgemore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominik Mortlock having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malcolm Slade got free with Alfred Hunt in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Horsham AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Humphreys came free, but Dominik Mortlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Horsham AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Malcolm Slade hit a great ball. Alistair Kirk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phil McGrath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
