The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Harvey Wrigley took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jason Deakin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harvey Wrigley's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. When Harvey Wrigley came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Halesworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harvey Wrigley couldn't finish the play. In the 14th match minute, Halesworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Don Barnfield to maneuver through the defense. Halesworth's Walter Endean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Halesworth from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Harvey Wrigley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jason Deakin was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Sammy Denham was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Hydro Fc's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Martyn Weeks shot from long distance in the 19th minute, but Walter Endean was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Don Barnfield hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Don Barnfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Harvey Wrigley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Deakin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harvey Wrigley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jason Deakin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pat Carter in the 29th minute of play. In the 35thth minute of the game Harvey Wrigley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hydro Fc's Jason Deakin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Harvey Wrigley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Deakin having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Carter in the 38th minute of play forced Hydro Fc's goalkeeper Jason Deakin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Kingston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Deakin having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Harvey Wrigley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halesworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Harvey Wrigley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jason Deakin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harvey Wrigley struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jason Deakin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halesworth. The crowd rose to their feet as Will Wood kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Walter Endean. That made the score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Sammy Denham made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Harvey Wrigley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halesworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Harvey Wrigley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jason Deakin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Halesworth's Walter Endean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Littlechild in the 54th minute of play. Jason Deakin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harvey Wrigley's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The throw-in from Martyn Weeks in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Halesworth's Lennie Broadhurst. In the 60th minute, Harvey Wrigley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Harvey Wrigley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Dean Kingston came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Halesworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Kingston couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Harvey Wrigley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jason Deakin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 74 minutes, Kirk Medley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Halesworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirk Medley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Hydro Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Wrigley came free, but Jason Deakin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harvey Wrigley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Jason Deakin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Lennie Broadhurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Will Wood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Endean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harvey Wrigley's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Jason Deakin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harvey Wrigley in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jason Deakin saved Hydro Fc from getting behind. Halesworth's Dean Kingston got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Harvey Wrigley got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Halesworth's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Hydro Fc had won, even though Halesworth had held more of the ball.
