The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Piers Sansom didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Tipton United's Dominic Blythe shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Piers Sansom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominic Blythe in the 8th minute of the match. Thetford AFC's Piers Sansom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominic Blythe in the 10th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Dominic Blythe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Piers Sansom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rio Fawcett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sean Kalischer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Len Humphreys having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Tipton United's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Kalischer came free, but Len Humphreys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Pool's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piers Sansom read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Dominic Blythe might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Piers Sansom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dominic Blythe ran back to his position shaking his head. Rio Fawcett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dave Pool sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piers Sansom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Pool, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Len Humphreys made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Rio Fawcett sent off a good shot on target. Piers Sansom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Blythe in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 53rd minute, Dave Pool reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Piers Sansom. The goal made the score 0-3. In the 56th match minute, Thetford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ash Leatherdale to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes Tipton United got a freekick which was hit by Dominic Blythe. Dave Pool blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Piers Sansom having to make a save. Piers Sansom didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 70th minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. 81 minutes into the match, Tipton United's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Kalischer came free, but Len Humphreys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rio Fawcett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Sean Kalischer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thetford AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 91st minute, Dominic Blythe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Tipton United's Piers Sansom threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dave Pool, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 97 minutes, Rio Fawcett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thetford AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rio Fawcett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tipton United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
