Marlon Oatway kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Dale Folan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Leather, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dale Folan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Broadhead, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marlon Oatway in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dale Folan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marlon Oatway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dale Folan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piers Broadhead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iain Milton took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luke Horner. Luke Horner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Dale Folan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Broadhead, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Keiran Pitman's late challenge caught a Honiton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keiran Pitman helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Honiton booed when Walthamstow City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keiran Pitman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dale Folan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piers Broadhead in the 45th minute of the match. With a little luck, Honiton's Luke Horner got control of the ball when Iain Milton tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Piers Broadhead made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Walthamstow City's Lewis Smith got a free kick in the 65th minute. Marlon Oatway took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dale Folan. Dale Folan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Hugh Phippard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Luke Horner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Piers Broadhead had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 75 in the game by Marlon Oatway from a close distance when the talented Dale Folan managed to make a qualified save. Walthamstow City's players were relieved. In the 79th minute, Louie Basterfield sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Honiton's Luke Horner didn't even have to move. In the 80th match minute, Honiton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Leather to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Honiton's goal looked a bit too open when Hugh Phippard came free, but Luke Horner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Honiton defense, Iain Milton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luke Horner. The Honiton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luke Horner should have stopped the shot. Marlon Oatway recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Honiton getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Rex Wardle hit a great ball. After 91 played minutes, Walthamstow City's Louie Basterfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luke Horner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Walthamstow City reached it. Luke Horner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Phippard in the 94th minute of the match. Luke Horner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Phippard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honiton's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
