In the 14th minute Vinnie Harris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven Ashby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Flushing's Vinnie Harris nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steven Ashby made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Steven Ashby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinnie Harris in the 54th minute of the match. When Vinnie Harris came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Flushing fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinnie Harris couldn't finish the play. If Vinnie Harris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 minutes, Neil Grantham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hornsea and the Flushing players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Flushing's Philip Winterbottom got control of the ball when Ashley Darnbrooke tried to sneak it across the goal line.
