Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ironville United's Micheal Sawyer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gav Plumber let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 4th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Gav Plumber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Matty Barraclough made a huge save. Jerome Barrow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Don Rowe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ashton-under-Lyne's Reggie Mannell got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Loyd Capes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ironville United's Jerome Barrow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Rowe in the 23rd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Gav Plumber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ironville United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Micheal Sawyer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reggie Mannell made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Gav Plumber cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Matty Barraclough was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Gav Plumber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ironville United's supporters rose to their feet, but Gav Plumber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matty Barraclough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ironville United's Micheal Sawyer got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Micheal Sawyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Matty Barraclough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Micheal Sawyer might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matty Barraclough. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Micheal Sawyer ran back to his position shaking his head. Matty Barraclough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micheal Sawyer in the 81st minute of play. Jerome Barrow acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tod Medley. When Don Holland fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashton-under-Lyne's protests and gave Don Holland a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Ashton-under-Lyne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Don Holland to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ironville United's Jerome Barrow got control of the ball when Don Rowe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Matty Barraclough stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gav Plumber's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Gav Plumber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Matty Barraclough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Ironville United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
