Spectators: 7486 (Terracing: 5653, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dylon Maylett took the kick off in the first half of the match. Stew Mason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey McNiven in the 3rd minute of play. Walworth Runners's Stew Mason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dylon Maylett in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute of the match Aaron Castledine sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steven Ashby skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Walworth Runners getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Aaron Castledine hit a great ball. Laurence Reid missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 18 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Stew Mason right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Walworth Runners's zone, Dylon Maylett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stew Mason came out of the goal and Dylon Maylett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dylon Maylett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Casey McNiven might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stew Mason. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casey McNiven ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Hornsea's Steven Ashby got control of the ball when Alf Woods tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ben Maxwell during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes Walworth Runners got a freekick which was hit by Ben Maxwell. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nat Cryer during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Nat Cryer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laurence Reid was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Casey McNiven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dylon Maylett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stew Mason having to interfere. Stew Mason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casey McNiven, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Stew Mason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casey McNiven in the 43rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Walworth Runners's Ben Maxwell got a free kick in the 45th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry Marenghi to make the kick off. Steven Ashby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Marenghi in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match Hornsea got a corner. Walworth Runners's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Laurence Reid ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Hornsea:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Walworth Runners:s goal. In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Walworth Runners. Peter Hampton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Steven Ashby. 1-0. 65 minutes into the game, Dylon Maylett recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stew Mason. Dylon Maylett showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Dylon Maylett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hornsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Dylon Maylett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stew Mason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stew Mason made an important save on a dangerous shot by Casey McNiven in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Walworth Runners's zone, Dylon Maylett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stew Mason came out of the goal and Dylon Maylett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Casey McNiven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th match minute, Walworth Runners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nat Cryer to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Casey McNiven notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Walworth Runners's Stew Mason. Stew Mason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Casey McNiven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Stew Mason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylon Maylett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stew Mason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylon Maylett, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Dylon Maylett took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stew Mason. Stew Mason dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Hornsea's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
