Chaz Marriott was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Verne Cook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaz Marriott having to interfere. Ged Rigg hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Verne Cook struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Chaz Marriott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flushing. In the 46th of the match, Vinnie Harris tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Chaz Marriott got in the way and made a wonderful save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Vinnie Harris made the kick off in the second half. Chaz Marriott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinnie Harris, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Flushing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinnie Harris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute, Tristram Rowland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Verne Cook received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Chaz Marriott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinnie Harris in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chaz Marriott prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Flushing's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Mansell came free, but Philip Winterbottom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vinnie Harris scored 3-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chaz Marriott, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Verne Cook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Verne Cook in the 92nd minute of play forced Wanlip Knights's goalkeeper Chaz Marriott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Vinnie Harris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flushing fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Flushing fully deserved thier win.
