Spectators: 7150 (Terracing: 5650, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Larry Huckerby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Alsop in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Staveley AFC booed when Cullompton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ollie Clegg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Larry Huckerby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cliff Langley's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Leigh Housham might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Barber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leigh Housham ran back to his position shaking his head. Rueben Pelc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Barber having to interfere. Larry Huckerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute, Tom Alsop got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 19 played minutes Staveley AFC got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Wise. When Tom Alsop came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Staveley AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Alsop couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute Cliff Langley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Alsop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute Cliff Langley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cullompton's zone, Tom Alsop stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larry Huckerby came out of the goal and Tom Alsop tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cliff Langley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Larry Huckerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Cliff Langley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Staveley AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cliff Langley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute Cliff Langley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cliff Langley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Tom Alsop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Larry Huckerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cliff Langley, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes Cullompton got a freekick which was hit by Nat Hoskins. Tom Alsop could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Larry Huckerby made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Owen Knight hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cullompton's Rio Bowler got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cliff Langley in the 74th minute of play forced Cullompton's goalkeeper Larry Huckerby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staveley AFC's Jerome Barber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leigh Housham in the 79th minute of play. If Tom Alsop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute of the match, Cliff Langley tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Larry Huckerby saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 94th match minute, Cullompton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rio Bowler to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
