Lambeth FC's Vic Wicks got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vic Wicks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roger Cousens having to make a save. In the 14th minute, Jim Cummins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edward Pearson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Sheppard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Lambeth FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Crispin Boyd hit a great ball. After 18 minutes of play, Knottingley's Gerry Garrett made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edward Pearson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Lambeth FC fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Lambeth FC's Vic Wicks looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 26th minute Gerry Garrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roger Cousens made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Ethan Airton sent off a good shot on target. Edward Pearson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Sheppard in the 29th minute of play. Lambeth FC's Edward Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Will Apsden in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Freddie Dryden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerry Garrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edward Pearson having to interfere. Roger Cousens made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Brendon Saxton sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vic Wicks in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Cousens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerome Acton hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Ethan Airton kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gerry Garrett made the kick off in the second half. Martyn Hallam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Cousens having to interfere. In the 54th minute Gerry Garrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute, Jerome Perryman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Wicks in the 57th minute of play. The Lambeth FC fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Lambeth FC's Vic Wicks looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Vic Wicks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lambeth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vic Wicks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Cousens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the game, Nathan Stonebridge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lambeth FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knottingley the free kick. The supporters of Knottingley booed when Lambeth FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Stonebridge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Wicks in the 67th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Will Apsden got free with Edward Pearson in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute Ethan Airton suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Lambeth FC made a substitution. Andy Impey replaced Ethan Airton. In the 72nd match minute, Knottingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Apsden to maneuver through the defense. Crispin Boyd missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 73 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Roger Cousens right hand side. Vic Wicks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roger Cousens having to make a save. Freddie Dryden took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger Cousens. Roger Cousens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Andy Impey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Cousens having to interfere. Edward Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerry Garrett in the 89th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Lambeth FC were the better team. Lambeth FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
