Kasey Davis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Syd Frost had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shane Lloyd. Old Excelsiors FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Syd Frost was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Denis Togwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the game, Chichester FC's Syd Frost nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shane Lloyd made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Syd Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ozzy Whieldon hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Togwell in the 45th minute of play forced Old Excelsiors FC's goalkeeper Shane Lloyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Syd Frost got free with Shane Lloyd in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Denis Togwell made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Denis Togwell put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Shane Lloyd. After a rather tough play, Chichester FC's Louie Phippard got a free kick in the 56th minute. Kasey Davis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Chichester FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louie Phippard to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Syd Frost managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chichester FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Syd Frost was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Lloyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Syd Frost hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Togwell succeeded in the game's 91st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-1. Shane Lloyd didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Louie Phippard went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Old Excelsiors FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
