Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Adam Notley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Dave Reid kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Louie Ainsworth. That made the score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Dave Reid managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paignton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Reid was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Notley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Shawn McGurk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shawn McGurk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Bassett in the 29th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Gez Lyons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shawn McGurk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Notley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shawn McGurk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Louie Ainsworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Reid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Dave Reid got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jake French had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shawn McGurk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Notley, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adam Notley made a kick off. In the 51st minute, John Paul Lawton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Byron Howarth kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Paignton FC's Dave Reid sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Louie Ainsworth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th match minute, Ripon United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Byron Howarth to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Chesney Chapman sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ripon United's Louie Ainsworth didn't even have to move. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paignton FC reached it. Adam Notley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Adam Notley fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shawn McGurk, passed just outside the right post. Phil Bassett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Shawn McGurk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ripon United booed when Paignton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Les Larham didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes Adam Notley rounded Paignton FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2.
