When Jay Beck fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ZEIG AFC's protests and gave Jay Beck a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Alnwick Town booed when ZEIG AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jay Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jo Gates got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Jo Gates hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Alnwick Town's Lance Robertson got control of the ball when Ashley Beasley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Doug Grainger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doug Grainger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Luke Faith made a huge save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Alnwick Town players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ZEIG AFC.
