Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vincent Cornish kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Shap United's goalkeeper Eric Lucas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Felix Beckwith notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sefton's Albert Cole. Sefton's Albert Cole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Beckwith in the 35th minute of play. Felix Beckwith's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albert Cole read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sefton's Glyn Richardson got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Beinn Deacon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beinn Deacon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Eric Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

In the 57th of the match, Vincent Cornish tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Albert Cole got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 60th minute, Beinn Deacon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Sefton's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Cornish came free, but Albert Cole reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Shap United booed when Sefton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Fordham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brendon Cobb managed to, on his own, get straight through Sefton's defense and in the 82nd minute placed the ball to the left of Albert Cole. 1-3. If Vincent Cornish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sefton's zone, Vincent Cornish stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Cole came out of the goal and Vincent Cornish tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eddie Hold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sefton's Eddie Hold in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shap United's goalie prevented a goal. Beinn Deacon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Eric Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shap United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
