Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ray Merris got the match started through his kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kirk Rhodes in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Louie Paget prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Vic Porter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hertford AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vic Porter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Beale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Mansfield Town's zone, Ray Merris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Beale came out of the goal and Ray Merris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glen Cornish got free with Louie Paget in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hertford AFC's goalkeeper Louie Paget, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hertford AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Kirk Rhodes scored to the left of an out of position Louie Paget, making the score, 1-0. Louie Paget showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirk Rhodes in the 23rd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Mansfield Town's Louie Paget threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kirk Rhodes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glen Cornish got free with Louie Paget in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute Kirk Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Louie Paget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Barney Burns was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mansfield Town's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hertford AFC the free kick. In the 36th match minute, Mansfield Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barney Burns to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute of the match Mansfield Town got a corner. Hertford AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sam West ran over to the corner to take the kick. Louie Paget was a little too slow when Ollie Hallam got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kirk Rhodes to make the kick off. Tommy Beale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Merris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the match, Hertford AFC's Ray Merris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Beale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kirk Rhodes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kirk Rhodes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Louie Paget tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the game, Wally Wadham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hertford AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mansfield Town the free kick. In the 60th match minute, Hertford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wally Wadham to maneuver through the defense. Louie Paget didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Mansfield Town's Kirk Rhodes shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Kirk Rhodes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louie Paget having to interfere. Dave Hassell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kirk Rhodes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, John-Paul Browne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hertford AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mansfield Town the free kick. In the 78th minute, John-Paul Browne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute of the match Sam West shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louie Paget showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Louie Paget took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirk Rhodes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Beale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dave Hassell in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Cornish in the 94th minute of play forced Hertford AFC's goalkeeper Louie Paget to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mansfield Town's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
