Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rick Ratcliffe kicked off to start the match. Malcolm Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil Thomson having to interfere. Malcolm Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Neil Thomson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Hayling Island FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gwyn Beardsley hit a great ball. Hayling Island FC's Neil Thomson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Hayling Island FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 14 minutes, Darryl Goacher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hayling Island FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darryl Goacher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darryl Goacher in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John-Paul Mallon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rick Ratcliffe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd minute Shane Ball shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Thomson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nigel Shephard hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Adhesive Alligators's zone, Darryl Goacher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John-Paul Mallon came out of the goal and Darryl Goacher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. John-Paul Mallon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Ratcliffe in the 27th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Adhesive Alligators got a freekick which was hit by Nigel Shephard. Malcolm Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Neil Thomson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shane Ball sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Ball in the 40th minute of play forced Hayling Island FC's goalkeeper Neil Thomson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Hayling Island FC's Rick Ratcliffe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John-Paul Mallon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Darryl Goacher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shane Ball was the one to do the kick off. Shane Ball might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Neil Thomson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shane Ball ran back to his position shaking his head. Adhesive Alligators's John-Paul Mallon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Adhesive Alligators from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Hayling Island FC's Rick Ratcliffe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John-Paul Mallon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hayling Island FC's Blair Fawell got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Darryl Goacher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adhesive Alligators's John-Paul Mallon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Ratcliffe in the 65th minute of play. If Darryl Goacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shane Ball sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Malcolm Oliver came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Adhesive Alligators fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malcolm Oliver couldn't finish the play. Shane Ball blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Neil Thomson having to make a save. Darryl Goacher struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. John-Paul Mallon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hayling Island FC. In the 77th minute, Hayling Island FC's Rick Ratcliffe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind John-Paul Mallon. John-Paul Mallon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. With his leg John-Paul Mallon managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Hayling Island FC's Darryl Goacher fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 83rdth minute of the game Rick Ratcliffe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Adhesive Alligators's John-Paul Mallon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nigel Shephard hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Hayling Island FC's CJ Parsons couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Adhesive Alligators. Darryl Goacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neil Thomson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Oliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. With his leg John-Paul Mallon managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Hayling Island FC's Darryl Goacher fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. John-Paul Mallon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Ratcliffe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
