After a rather tough play, Canvey Island's Charlie Oatway got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute, Robbie Seaward made a precise shot to the right of Jonathon Griggs. Canvey Island's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Abraham Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Griggs having to interfere. When Abraham Cardwell came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Crowborough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Cardwell couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Crowborough's zone, Andy Gilchrist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orson Swanson came out of the goal and Andy Gilchrist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robbie Seaward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Griggs having to interfere. Robbie Seaward took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathon Griggs. Jonathon Griggs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Robbie Seaward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathon Griggs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Seaward, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Canvey Island's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Cardwell came free, but Jonathon Griggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robbie Seaward in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathon Griggs saved Canvey Island from getting behind. Abraham Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Griggs having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abraham Cardwell in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathon Griggs prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathon Griggs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abraham Cardwell's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Robbie Seaward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abraham Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Griggs having to interfere. Jonathon Griggs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbie Seaward, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Robbie Seaward had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathon Griggs. Canvey Island's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robbie Seaward was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robbie Seaward to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathon Griggs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Cardwell in the 53rd minute of the match. Abraham Cardwells short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Jonathon Griggs to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 60 minutes into the game, Robbie Seaward lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Jonathon Griggs. Abraham Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Griggs having to interfere. With a little luck, Canvey Island's Jonathon Griggs got control of the ball when Abraham Cardwell tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Crowborough's Archie Stockdale got a free kick in the 75th minute. When Karl Mason came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Canvey Island fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Mason couldn't finish the play. Canvey Island's Jonathon Griggs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Canvey Island from getting a goal against them. After having played for 88 minutes, Abraham Cardwell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crowborough's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Cardwell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robbie Seaward received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jonathon Griggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Abraham Cardwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
