Dale Armitage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyler Theakston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, A.F.C Bournemouth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyler Theakston to maneuver through the defense. The Boscombe players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. A.F.C Bournemouth were winning 1-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when George Atkinson got free with Dale Armitage in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Rockey's late challenge caught a Boscombe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
