After a rather tough play, Canvey Island's Perry Marler got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Tyler Theakston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 23 minutes, Lance Swanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canvey Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Swanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Atkinson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathon Griggs having to make a save. After having played for 29 minutes, George Atkinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. William Crossman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jonathon Griggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyler Theakston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of A.F.C Bournemouth booed when Canvey Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caleb Inman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute, George Atkinson made a precise shot to the right of Jonathon Griggs. Canvey Island's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After the first half A.F.C Bournemouth were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tyler Theakston made a kick off. Charlie Oatway hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the game, George Atkinson lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Jonathon Griggs. Jonathon Griggs made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when George Atkinson sent off a good shot on target. Caleb Inman hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the game, George Atkinson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.F.C Bournemouth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canvey Island the free kick. A collision led to A.F.C Bournemouth getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. George Atkinson hit a great ball. George Atkinson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathon Griggs came out and tried to block the shot, but George Atkinson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 65th minute.
