Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Loyd Lofthouse kicked off to start the match. Freddy Holt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Timothy Sills. Hadleigh FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Loyd Lofthouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Sills having to interfere. In the 19th minute of the match Luke Shephard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timothy Sills showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Hadleigh FC's Timothy Sills proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Hadleigh FC from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Welling's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Sparkes came free, but Rich Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Panther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronny Panther in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rich Hurst prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Freddy Holt kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute of the match Wayne Hanley sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rich Hurst skillfully saved the ball. Al Newlyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Timothy Sills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hadleigh FC's zone, Al Newlyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timothy Sills came out of the goal and Al Newlyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Loyd Lofthouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidney Basham kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Timothy Sills was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luke Shephard. After a rather tough play, Welling's Karl Pullen got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Ronny Panther received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rich Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timothy Sills didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Al Newlyn went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 63 minutes into the match, Welling's Loyd Lofthouse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timothy Sills narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 64 played minutes Welling got a freekick which was hit by Greg Haugue. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricky Sparkes got free with Rich Hurst in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricky Sparkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich Hurst having to interfere. Ricky Sparkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abraham Maylett hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Welling's Abraham Maylett got a free kick in the 79th minute. Hadleigh FC's Wayne Hanley couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 80th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Welling. After 82 minutes, Karl Pullen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Welling and the Hadleigh FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 87 minutes, Ronny Panther managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hadleigh FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Panther was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl Pullen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Sills having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Loyd Lofthouse put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Timothy Sills.
