Barmby on the Marsh
Spectators: 5500 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Byron Kellaway took the kick off in the first half of the match. Byron Kellaway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Fred Jackson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Byron Kellaway took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fred Jackson. Fred Jackson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lloyd Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Andre Bridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Bridge made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lloyd Matthews in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Calvin Saville managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bourne's supporters rose to their feet, but Calvin Saville was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Jackson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Barmby on the Marsh's Conan Tipton got a free kick in the 20th minute. After having played for 22 minutes, Byron Kellaway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bourne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Byron Kellaway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Calvin Saville shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tod Niven in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andre Bridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the game, Tod Niven recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Andre Bridge. Tod Niven showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Lloyd Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Tod Niven fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Andre Bridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Niven in the 36th minute of play. Tod Niven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Lloyd Matthews came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Barmby on the Marsh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lloyd Matthews couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Niven in the 48th minute of play forced Bourne's goalkeeper Andre Bridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tod Niven was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conan Tipton during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Barmby on the Marsh getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Conan Tipton hit a great ball. Tod Niven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Bridge having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Byron Kellaway got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute Byron Kellaway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tod Niven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Bridge having to interfere. Calvin Saville's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Fred Jackson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 92nd minute Nial Sledge suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 92 minutes, Hayden Towler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barmby on the Marsh and the Bourne players grew even worse after the yellow card. Calvin Saville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Jackson having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
