The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frankie Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin Pell in the 4th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gavin Pell kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frankie Vazquez. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in HULL CITY FC's zone, Jonathon Kingston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frankie Vazquez came out of the goal and Jonathon Kingston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Stratford-upon-Avon FC's Rufus Cartwright got a free kick in the 21st minute. Ivor Boyce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toby Blewitt having to interfere. When Stratford-upon-Avon FC's Gavin Pell in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored HULL CITY FC's protests and gave Karl Millman a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to HULL CITY FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. HULL CITY FC's Frankie Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavin Pell in the 42nd minute of play. Gavin Pell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frankie Vazquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivor Boyce in the 44th minute of play forced Stratford-upon-Avon FC's goalkeeper Toby Blewitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andy Smith to strike the kick off in the second half. Frankie Vazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavin Pell, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Max Walker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HULL CITY FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stratford-upon-Avon FC the free kick. In the 61st minute, Max Walker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frankie Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathon Kingston in the 66th minute of play. Andy Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Toby Blewitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toby Blewitt made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ivor Boyce sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Andy Smith put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Toby Blewitt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Smith in the 81st minute of play forced Stratford-upon-Avon FC's goalkeeper Toby Blewitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toby Blewitt made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Ivor Boyce sent off a good shot on target. Frankie Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin Pell in the 89th minute of play. If Gavin Pell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Blake hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gavin Pell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stratford-upon-Avon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavin Pell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frankie Vazquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
