When Kirk Medlin fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Turtle Bay's protests and gave Kirk Medlin a yellow card for diving instead. Kirk Medlin hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the game, Seth Lawless was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Turtle Bay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave HULL CITY FC the free kick. In the 9th minute, Seth Lawless hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kirk Medlin kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match Cliff Draper shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kirk Burkinshaw showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Ivor Boyce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes HULL CITY FC got a freekick which was hit by Karl Millman. If Ivor Boyce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. Kirk Burkinshaw was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Max Walker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Max Walker really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. The supporters of HULL CITY FC booed when Turtle Bay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Lawless didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Turtle Bay's Kirk Burkinshaw got control of the ball when Ivor Boyce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frankie Vazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jake Strong, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Seth Lawless received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Frankie Vazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Turtle Bay's Kirk Burkinshaw got control of the ball when Ivor Boyce tried to sneak it across the goal line.
