Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Derek Poynton started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Gedling City getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Johnny Wootton hit a great ball. Bredon FC's Harvey Bartram couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gedling City. Harvey Bartram placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Calum Bartram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. James Kirk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute of the match Curtis Orchard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but James Kirk showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Derek Poynton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pete Longden. Bredon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Derek Poynton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Bredon FC's Pete Longden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Poynton in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bredon FC's zone, Derek Poynton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Longden came out of the goal and Derek Poynton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Austen Woodhead in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pete Longden saved Bredon FC from getting behind. Austen Woodhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Longden having to interfere. Austen Woodhead took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pete Longden. Pete Longden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Kyle Emmerson fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gedling City's protests and gave Kyle Emmerson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Kyle Emmerson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bredon FC's Pete Longden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austen Woodhead in the 42nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Derek Poynton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pete Longden was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. When Gedling City's Austen Woodhead in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bredon FC's goalie prevented a goal. Bredon FC's Grant Daly got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Calum Bartram to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Derek Poynton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Longden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bredon FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Derek Poynton scored to the left of an out of position Pete Longden, making the score, 1-3. Bredon FC's Grant Daly got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Austen Woodhead got free with Pete Longden in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62ndth minute of the game Derek Poynton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bredon FC's Pete Longden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bredon FC's Pete Longden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Poynton in the 64th minute of play. Bredon FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Derek Poynton scored to the left of an out of position Pete Longden, making the score, 1-5. Austen Woodhead was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Gedling City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 76 minutes, Joshua Nicholson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bredon FC and the Gedling City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joshua Nicholson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes Gedling City got a freekick which was hit by Austen Woodhead. The free kick resulted in a very good chance to score when Austen Woodhead kicked a really tricky shot on goal. Pete Longden never had to step in, however, because the ball went just left of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Derek Poynton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pete Longden, 1-6. If Derek Poynton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Bredon FC's Pete Longden got control of the ball when Austen Woodhead tried to sneak it across the goal line. Austen Woodhead could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Pete Longden made a huge save. The supporters of Gedling City booed when Bredon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Bartram didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Pierce Glasby shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pete Longden showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
