Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Luke Dryden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harleston United's supporters rose to their feet, but Luke Dryden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sly Duckworth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommy Brooks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Whitworth having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Luke Dryden had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sly Duckworth. Hilperton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luke Dryden was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Harleston United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tommy Brooks 16 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Hilperton United's Tommy Brooks slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roger Whitworth. That made the score 2-1 after 19 minutes of play. Luke Dryden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristian Best who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Roger Whitworth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 33rd minute, Tommy Brooks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Whitworth made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Stewart Croft sent off a good shot on target. When Hilperton United's Tommy Brooks in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Harleston United's goalie prevented a goal. 41 minutes into the game, Hilperton United's Kristian Best nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Whitworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franz Musgrove during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute, Franz Musgrove hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristian Best kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Neil Liddle took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sly Duckworth. Sly Duckworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The wind increased when Luke Dryden made the kick off in the second half. Stewart Croft hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Tommy Brooks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Whitworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Musgrove in the 64th minute of the match. Kristian Best struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Roger Whitworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hilperton United. In the 69th minute of the match Eddie Shakespeare sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sly Duckworth skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Hilperton United's Darren Cooke got a free kick in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlton Spurgeon got free with Sly Duckworth in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute Tommy Brooks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Whitworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Harleston United's zone, Stewart Croft stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Whitworth came out of the goal and Stewart Croft tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd match minute, Hilperton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franz Musgrove to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Brooks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Roger Whitworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kristian Best had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Harleston United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 98th minute. Penalty! There was no doubt that Hilperton United were the better team. Hilperton United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
