St Arsene Fc's Ted Burrows played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Parks in the 21st minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Cleckheaton's Brendon Mayfield made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ashley Webster in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ted Burrows prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, St Arsene Fc's Lennie Byrne got a free kick in the 29th minute. If Lennie Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Burrows made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Brendon Mayfield sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm Hislop in the 70th minute of play forced Cleckheaton's goalkeeper Tris Long to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ashley Webster who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Ted Burrows when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sly Christensen in the 76th minute of play forced Cleckheaton's goalkeeper Tris Long to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tris Long showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sly Christensen, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Dion Busby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ted Burrows tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
