Basil Delamore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luke Dryden's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 65th minute, Giles Collingwood left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sunderland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Roger Whitworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francis Pointon in the 72nd minute of the match. Sunderland's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Harleston United's Roger Whitworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josh Fry in the 94th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sunderland had won after a very even match.
