A collision led to FIVEteen United getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rufus Lawson hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Glyn Drysdale successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Nicholas Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, FIVEteen United's Rufus Lawson got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Garry Holland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FIVEteen United's Glyn Drysdale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Garry Holland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Terry Dibb kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Garry Holland hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Mick Hoult made the kick off in the second half. Garry Holland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. In the 96th match minute, Helsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Keane to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Helsby had won after a very even match.
